Community Food Blogs
I am passionate about food and local produce and my wee toon!
Many times in my life I have been saved from hunger and debt by knowing how to rustle up a decent meal from next to nothing. I know from firsthand experience that a few basic cookery skills and a half-decent store cupboard are the key to eating well, and to tiding you over. I love sharing this knowledge and do so via my Summer Cookery School for kids, and by other cookery and food workshops. I’ve done everything from catering online events for a hundred people with mailed recipe boxes and curated menus, to teaching the local cub scout how to make butter from scratch from local cream.
I work with a number of local groups doing community work that focuses on healthy eating, local produce and producers, and celebrating community activities. I’m all about the whole plot to plate ethos!
Have a read of my community blogs below, check out the gallery, and do pop over to the Seed Library pages too.
Always happy to chat and my further contact details are below the gallery.

Contact details…
If you are a youth or community group (foodbank, youth project, charity etc) please do contact me for a formal quote and to discuss your requirements. I do not operate at a profit, but I do (obviously!) need to break even and pay my bills with my suppliers. Most groups find that my formal quotes are accepted by their funders and have been useful in getting grants for their events.
I am fully insured with product and personal liability insurance, DBS checks, and food and hygiene certification and am happy to share these documents with you on booking, or in advance should your funders require it.
Essentially, I just work for the community and for community events. I’m afraid I don’t cater for private events, but I do know superb local caterers and would be delighted to connect you to them.
